Udupi: Tony Suares from The Millennium School won the Maths Teacher of the Year award at the Education Journal Middle East Awards.
The judges recognised Suares for creating maths lessons that relate to real life situations, while also challenging students.
Over the last four years, Suares has consistently implemented new teaching techniques in the classroom. He understands that each student is different and adopts new ways of teaching with different activities and alternative methods. One such technique is flipped lessons, which encourages students to present a topic every week. This not only increases their confidence but also helps them understand various mathematical concepts.
The Education Journal Middle East Awards were held on May 3, 2017 at Grosvenor House Dubai.
