This ‘Sand Bazar’ app has been designed under the theme, ‘From shore to every door.’ Earlier, there was no fixed price for a load of sand and the middlemen used to demand more money from the public. But in this new system, the district administration itself fixes the price for sand and procures it as per the demand of the public. The customer can track all the procedures of registration, vehicle booking, sand transportation through the mobile app. This mobile app will be maintained by the Department of Mines and Geology and it will start functioning from next week.

According to this new system, those who want sand should download this mobile app ‘Sand Bazar.’ Later, postal address, Aadhar number and the exact location where the sand should be dumped can be mentioned in the app. Later, an OTP will be generated to the mobile number of the customer. The amount for the sand should be paid through net banking or Paytm. Once the payment is made online, a message will be delivered to the mobile phone and sand can be collected from the nearest dumping yard after showing that message. The trucks should transport the sand as per the bookings made on the mobile app. There should not be any delay in procuring sand. If a particular lorry takes too much time to transport sand, a warning will be issued from the district administration. If the mistakes are repeated more than thrice, then such lorries would be blacklisted, sources from district administration informed.
