Miss World 2017: Meet The International Fame From India ‘Manushi Chhillar’!!!

India’s Manushi Chhillar has won the Miss World 2017 beauty pageant, 17 years after Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World crown in the year 2000. Stephaine De Valle, the last year’s Miss World winner from Puerto Rico, presented the honor at Sanya, China. Around 108 women from across the World participated in the beauty pageant. Manushi is the sixth Indian to win the crown which was first won by Reita Faria back in 1966. Aishwarya Rai had bagged the title in 1994, followed by Diana Haydon in 1997, Yukta Mookhey in 1999 and Priyanka Chopra in 2000. The 20-year-old model who hails from Haryana, studied at St. Thomas School in New Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat.Manushi’s father, Dr. Mitra Basu Chhillar, is a scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organisation and her mother Dr. Neelam Chhillar, is an associate professor and department head of Neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Health Sciences.She wants to be a cardiac surgeon and plans to open non-profit hospitals in rural areas. She aims to spread awareness about the menstrual hygiene. She is also a trained classical dancer and has a passion for outdoor sports like scuba diving, snorkeling and bungee jumping.After reaching the top 5, she was asked during the question and answer round which profession she thought deserved the highest salary and why. Replying to the question she said “I think a mother is of the highest respect. I don’t think it’s just about cash but love and respect she gives to someone. She is the biggest inspiration in my life. The mother should get the highest respect.”
